Kami & Mika – The Secret of the Magical Whirlpool (Hardcover)

€15.00

After Kami and Mika have saved the pink chameleon Konrad, they immediately find a new task in Cloud Grove: they help Princess Gunther prepare the annual princess election and are even allowed to take part in the celebrations in the cheese castle. Before the coronation takes place, however, the siblings are caught in a magical whirlpool and end up in the desert land of Troconien. There they meet Lexi, the inventor's daughter, who takes them to the run-down, childless city. While searching for fuel for an aircraft from Lexi's father's workshop, the three not only discover a missing relative of their friend Isabella, but also the reason why all the children - except Lexi - have disappeared from Troconien. Will Kami and Mika manage to get back to Cloud Grove?

Darn it! When Mika secretly helps herself to the buffet at the princess election, she makes a huge mistake: Mika says the forbidden word before biting into a bombastic fruit. Of course, this is not without consequences. Suddenly a magical whirlpool appears, carrying the twins away and into a wondrous wasteland. Where have Kami and Mika ended up? And much more importantly: How do they get back?

Fantasy stories full of diversity, courage and friendship

For reading aloud and first reading by yourself from 6 years

WE LOVE IT BECAUSE: DIVERS/INCLUSIVE

While the first volume focused on people with disabilities and physical self-determination, the second part tells the story of a rainbow family with two fathers and focuses on empathy and sensitivity. Kami and Mika often disagree and sometimes get annoyed by the other's behavior. As the story progresses, however, they understand each other better and sometimes even slip into the role of siblings, when the brave Mika is sometimes afraid and the cautious Kami suddenly acts impulsively. Elsewhere, it is about meeting others without prejudice and not judging them too quickly. The story not only offers many exciting, humorous and touching moments, but also conveys important and empowering messages.
